Dear Sector Stakeholders,
The earthquake disaster in our country, wars in different parts of the world, and global economic contraction have also affected the textile machinery sector like other industries. The significant impact on our textile industry during this period has directly affected our sector, as the textile industry is one of the largest sectors in terms of production, employment, and exports in our country.
Due to these reasons, while domestic textile machine sales and imports decreased, our sector companies focused on exports and aimed to increase their activities in target markets. Although the contraction in target markets negatively affected textile machine exports in 2023, our sector achieved an increase in exports by diversifying markets in 2024.
In 2022, our exports reached $919 million. In 2023, despite a 10% decrease, our exports were realized as $830 million. In the first 10 months of 2024, exports increased by 20% compared to the previous year, reaching $785 million. Key markets such as Egypt, Russia, and South American countries played a significant role in this growth.
