Dear Sector Stakeholders,

The Turkish textile machinery sector, like many other industries, faced difficulties in 2025. Rising production costs negatively impacted our global competitiveness. In particular, contractions in the textile and ready-to-wear sectors adversely affected our sales in the domestic market. However, despite everything, our industry—which strives to maintain its strength in export markets and can export to emerging new textile markets—achieved an export value of $1.1 billion in 2025, representing a 9.5% increase.

The relocation of textile and ready-to-wear manufacturers to Egypt and the second-hand export of machinery from closed textile and ready-to-wear factories in our country to foreign textile markets were instrumental in this growth. On the other hand, textile machinery imports decreased by 17.5% compared to 2024, standing at $1.2 billion in 2025. Unfortunately, increases in energy, raw material, and labor prices could not be fully reflected in machinery sales prices at the same rate to maintain competitiveness. COSTS RISING TO EUROPEAN LEVELS, NEW COMPETITION FROM CHINA.

Costs in our sector—which can be briefly summarized as providing higher quality standards than China for years—have unfortunately reached European levels. On the other hand, China brought a significant price advantage, making quality and standards a critical factor going beyond the ordinary. Under these changing conditions, our manufacturers have continued their R&D investments despite everything and maintained their strength in export markets.

About Textile Machinery and Accessories Industrialists Association (TEMSAD)

Dear Sector Stakeholders,

The Textile Machinery and Accessories Industrialists Association (TEMSAD), established in 1998, is a non-governmental organization that includes companies producing textile machinery, spare parts, and textile chemicals.

Currently, we have 189 members, almost all of whom are domestic manufacturers. 90% of companies in this field are TEMSAD members, and 85% of our members are exporters. Our export volume in 2023 was $830 million. According to TURKSTAT labor data, the sector employs approximately 9,500 people. 22 of our members have R&D centers, and 4 have Design Centers.
